Vintage Hermès Shoes
The Rolls Royce of leather goods

To purchase a new Hermès handbag a woman might stay on a waiting list for months or years and then she will pay in the thousands of dollars for the privilege of owning it. Even their vintage handbags fetch in the thousands of dollars. According to Wikipedia the Hermès company is "... widely considered to be the most prestigious and exclusive fashion house in the world due to the unusually high craftsmanship that goes into its products"

Although most famous for their bags and lovely silk scarves Hermès has been making all manner of fashion items with the same perfectionist standards since the 1800s. These shoes are a feminine version of the classic wingtip shoe. I am not sure what the era is, the style has such a classic look. I am thinking the 1980s. They have the look of an early walking shoe. Handcrafted from the finest suede the uppers are done in three shades of brown with an open lace up vamp. The laces are brown suede with tassel ends. They have a short 1 1/2" stacked heel and blunt almond shaped toe. Of course the entire shoe is leather inside and out.
The size is a European 37 and translates to an American size 6 1/2 - 7.
They are a medium width and seem to be more generous than a regular size 6 1/2 so I am also listing them with the size 7 shoes as well.

Sometimes the shoes come first!
A simple oufit with fabulous accessories will be forever chic and these shoes are a good place to start! Lush aubergine suede with varigated snakeskin combine to create a rich looking shoe. Well made 1980s pumps by better shoemaker DeLiso. Toe and heel done in snakeskin with suede body and tailored suede bow. Beautiful condition, worn only once.

I fell in love with these shoes when I saw them and was bitterly disappointed when I found they were a size too small! Done in the 1960s they are a dark sepia brown leather with pointed toe and spike heel" high. The leather used to trim the opening of the shoe has a contrasting texture, like lizard. There is also a sharp little bow in the same textured leather over the instep. The rest of the shoe is smooth and the leather is soft as "butter". The lining and sole are also in leather. This is a beautifully made shoe. The name inside reads Mr. Easton.

As a dealer a lot of beautiful things pass through my hands. I am pretty good at letting them go especially if they will never fit me. These shoes however got the best of me. For a brief crazed, moment I think I even entertained the idea of foot surgery just to wear these shoes. I have held on to them for a while. It is time to give them a real home now.
French Navy leather with dainty floral, hand needlepointed toe from the 1960s. These shoes have a graceful pointed toe and low narrow heel. They are lined inside with white kid leather and have a leather sole. The name inside the shoe reads Freedom Shoes. They are absolutely lovely and make the foot look quite dainty and feminine. I will try to be happy for their new owner.

Chic and unique!
Such a lovely Spring or Summer shoe. These wonderful heels, from the 1960s are a two tone powder blue combination of patent and regular leather. The opening of the shoe is patent leather with cutouts around the instep. The pointed toe is done in buff finished leather in a slightly darker shade of powder blue. The heel is narrow and of medium height. The name inside reads Premier bottier Wilshire Boulevard, Los Angeles. The other shoe says Hand Made, Chic Last. They have leather soles and uppers and are leather lined as well. They were worn just once or twice and are in beautiful condition. The leather lining inside has changed color in a couple of places where the glue had aged and the toe has some minute scuffing but that is all.

I love the unique detail work in these black leather day shoes from the 1940s by Treadeasy. They have multiple diamond cut outs across the instep created by finely stitched strips of leather.. The heel is a chunky. They are lined with leather and have a leather sole. Sturdy construction combined with pretty details makes them a perfect dancing shoe. Particularly if you are into Swing!
