Vintage Hermès Shoes
The Rolls Royce of leather goods
To purchase a new Hermès handbag a woman
might stay on a waiting list for months or
years and then she will pay in the thousands
of dollars for the privilege of owning it.
Even their vintage handbags fetch in the
thousands of dollars. According to Wikipedia
the Hermès company is "... widely considered
to be the most prestigious and exclusive
fashion house in the world due to the unusually
high craftsmanship that goes into its products"
Although most famous for their bags and lovely
silk scarves Hermès has been making all manner
of fashion items with the same perfectionist
standards since the 1800s. These shoes are
a feminine version of the classic wingtip
shoe. I am not sure what the era is, the
style has such a classic look. I am thinking
the 1980s. They have the look of an early
walking shoe. Handcrafted from the finest
suede the uppers are done in three shades
of brown with an open lace up vamp. The laces
are brown suede with tassel ends. They have
a short 1 1/2" stacked heel and blunt
almond shaped toe. Of course the entire shoe
is leather inside and out.
The size is a European 37 and translates
to an American size 6 1/2 - 7.
They are a medium width and seem to be more
generous than a regular size 6 1/2 so I am
also listing them with the size 7 shoes as
well.

Size 5 B
Black suede, peep toe heels circa late 1940s.
Style and aching feet don't have to be synonymous.
A beautiful curved heel box and throat along
with dainty ruffled faile detail and sexy
peek a boo toe create a perfectly lovely
shoe. However... looks were not the only
concern that went into their making . As
with a lot of vintage footwear comfort was
equally important. These beauties have built
in arch support, flexible leather sole, a
roomy toe box and perfectly placed heel for
all day comfort. Try to find all of that
in a really cute pair of shoes today!
Beautiful condition outside with minimal
wear to the lining.
