Luscious Watermelon Red Wool coat with

a scalloped line of mink down the front
opening.

which
are cut on the bias. The cut of the
coat
is typical 60s , boxy with subtle fitting
in the princess lines. Very Jackie

The prettiest fur trimmed leather circa mid
1960s.
Winter white soft and supple leather with
white fox collar. The leather and style is
very similar to that of Bonnie Cashin but
the label is gone and it does not have her
signature toggles. Not a Cashin but a beautiful
coat none the less.
A"mod" design. Boxy, cut in three
sections with raglan shoulder. The collar
is lush and very full. It buttons with leather
covered buttons and has leather bound button
holes. There are exaggerated slash pockets
on the sides. You can wear it belted with
the self leather belt or plain. Either way
it is extremely flattering. The sleeves are
bracelet length which means they come high
on the wrist which was the look of the day.
This length sleeve looks well if you wear
long gloves or a long sleeved sweater beneath.
And hey, how about a fabulous bracelet! There
is absolutely nothing wrong with this coat
that I could find. It is unusual to find
a vintage white coat in such marvelous condition.
The size is medium around a modern size 8-10. It has the following measurements.
Chest 42"
Hips up to 48"
Shoulder to shoulder 17 1/2"
Sleeve length 25"
Length from shoulder to hem 33"
Excellent Condition
$175.00

Funky full length suede coat with snake
trim
circa 1970s.
I have always liked the cut of these coats
with their defined waist and long A-line
skirts. They seem to flatter ever figure.
The suede is sturdy but still soft and hangs
nicely. The top is fitted and it has a wide
inset waist with snake skin cut outs. The
skirt is long with a good flair at the hem.
It closes with brass snaps and the sleeves
have deep vents which snap closed. There
is lots of decorative topstitching which
helps define the design lines giving the
coat a sharp stylish look. The collar is
slightly exaggerated with rounded edges.
It is fully lined. There are no pockets,
I suppose the designer preferred to keep
the look as sleek as possible and pockets
can add bulk. I mended one area where the
lining pulled apart and it is fine now. There
are no tears or stains. The suede does have
natural variations in color but this is normal
and not a flaw. They are exaggerated in my
photos, not as visible in real life.
The size is medium around a modern size 8 and has the following measurements.
Chest 38"
Waist 32"
Hips 40"
Shoulder to shoulder 16"
Length from shoulder to hem 45"
Excellent Condition

Dramatic 1940s Style
Stunning fur trimmed purple wool coat from
the early 1940s. The finest wool in a rich
shade of amethyst. The coat has a loose fitting
straight cut with sharply defined shoulder
line. The sleeves are beautiful, done in
a two tiered design. The over sleeve has
a scalloped bell shape and the more narrow
undersleeve is trimmed with self covered
buttons. There is a generous black and white
fur collar. Fur is not my area of expertise
so I hesitate to identify the type. It looks
as though there may be two different types
used. A top layer which is variegated in
color, thick and lush with long guard hairs.
Plus an edge layer that is softer to the
touch in ivory and black. Check out the detail
photos for a better view of the collar
Beautifully tailored with self covered buttons
and hand bound button holes. It is lined
in a lovely amethyst satin and has welted
pockets on the sides. The condition is exceptional
with no signs of wear.
The size is generous (modern 10-12 at least)
and will fit a taller frame very well. It has the following measurements
Chest 49"
Hips up to 54"
Shoulder to shoulder 17 1/2"
Sleeve length 25"
Length from shoulder to hem 48"
Excellent Condition
$325.00

Tweed cape/coat circa 1970s.
Brave the elements in sophisticated English
style. The novel tweed has a basket weave
which blends wool with unique texture fibers.
The coat has slight A shape with tailored
collar. It is sleeveless with a generous
built in cape which falls to the hip. Single
breasted button front. The lining is brown
taffeta faille. There are two identifying
labels May of London made in England and Made in England for Carroll Reed, North Conway, New Hampshire. The only sign of age is a little color
change in the lining at the arm openings. There are no blemishes
or holes and the lining is still strong.
Judging by the small armscyes and chest measurement
the size is small I would say around a modern 6. The measurements are as follows. Chest 37"
Hips 42"
Cape length 24"
Length from shoulder to hem 48"
Excellent Condition
$165.00

Brilliant Emerald green suede coat from the

to a few inches below the knee, with gentle
shaping at the waist. It is fully lined in

Beautifully tailored coat by Pauline Trigere, one of Americas most acclaimed designers.
This coat was done, I believe, in the early
1980s maybe the late 70s. The fabric is a
rich heather gray wool in a medium tone.
The cut is clean and classic with subtle
but interesting design lines. The shoulders
have extension pleats which give them a sharply
defined line. The sleeves are set into this
clever pleat which circles the entire armscye.
There is a high mandarin inspired collar
with a decorative asymmetrical extension.
The coat is cut in a straight column and
closes in front with two oversized pewter
buttons and bound buttonholes. There are
two deep side seam pockets. The lining is
a rich gun metal satin. The construction
of course is exquisite! The size is in the
medium range and it will work quite well on a tall frame. The chest measurement is 44",
shoulder to shoulder 16" (the pleats
extend a little past this), length of coat
from shoulder to hem 47" and the sleeves
are nice and long measuring 26". The
coat looks like it was never worn and is
in...
