Early 80s Pauline Trigère coat Med. Tall

Beautifully tailored coat by Pauline Trigere, one of Americas most acclaimed designers.

This coat was done, I believe, in the early 1980s maybe the late 70s. The fabric is a rich heather gray wool in a medium tone. The cut is clean and classic with subtle but interesting design lines. The shoulders have extension pleats which give them a sharply defined line. The sleeves are set into this clever pleat which circles the entire armscye. There is a high mandarin inspired collar with a decorative asymmetrical extension. The coat is cut in a straight column and closes in front with two oversized pewter buttons and bound buttonholes. There are two deep side seam pockets. The lining is a rich gun metal satin. The construction of course is exquisite! The size is in the medium range and should go on a tall frame, it would not look well on a petite person.
