1980s Holly Harp Silk Crepe and Chiffon Dress 30s Inspired Med
Feminine l layers of silk crepe and chiffon... cut to evoke the romantic frocks of the 1930s.
Designed in the 1980s by Holly Harp. The fabric combination is divine. Pure silk... crepe de chine with fluttering chiffon accents share a delicate matching retro print in shades of lavender, gray and black. The body of the dress has a slim six goret cut thatáskims the hip (very 30s) Neckline is V front and back with a deeper front plunge. Technically this is a "sleeveless" dress but the shoulders are lightly padded and detailed with multiple ruffled flanges that cascade, cape like, over the arm (very Hollywood 30s ). Ruffled chiffon flanged highlight each gore of the skirt. All ruffles are edged with a black satin stitch. The hem is also finished with a black satin stich and undulates in soft scallops, dipping slightly in back. A generous self fabric sash can be worn as a belt or a scarf, as you choose. There are two labels in the dress, Holly Harps signature lace and a Henri Bendel. The size tag says small but the measurements put it in the medium/small range. Measurements as follow.
