1953 Turkish Toes Oomphies SZ 9 1/2N

  1953 OOmphies ..... simply amazing. They hail from an era when fashion was having a love affair with all things Near East. Luxurious fabrics, exotic design and rich colors with hints of gold or silver were some of the elements that were borrowed. These vintage house slippers have it all.

I actually came across an ad in a 1953 Vogue magazine featuring these babies. They are described thusly so "Turkish Toes: of brocade turned up in delight" A real find for anyone who collects vintage footwear.

Fabric:  textured cotton with a rich floral, brocade-like print. Inside is lined in ruby red velvet. The soles are beige suede Style: backless slides with a low wedge heel and a toe box which is sculpted to curve up. 

I can see no signs of wear, they are in like new condition.

Size 91/2 N with the following measurements

Length from toe to heel 10 1/2"

Width across ball of sole 3 1/2"

Wedge height 1 3/4"
