1940s Sequin and Soutach Embroidered evening jacket Small
Evening Elegance from the 1940s.
Striking combination of Black and Shocking Pink (a color made famous by Elsa Schiaparelli). The fabric is rayon crepe. Lightly structured and unlined. I'm fairly certain this was once part of a set... probably accompanied by a matching black skirt or possibly evening pants but it came to me alone.
Form hugging bodice with padded shoulders and short sleeves. The front is inset with Shocking Pink, embellished with soutache embroidery and sequin highlights. The edges of the pink inset are defined with a decorative border of soutache. Self fabric covered buttons close the front.
Striking and iconic of it's era this softly tailored jacket would pair beautifully with black satin, chiffon or velvet evening pants or perhaps a long skirt. For a bold casual statement try it with skinny jeans and strappy platform shoes.
