War Time 1944 Suit Dress Pattern Vogue #5253 Med

Two piece Vogue dress pattern or dress/suit pattern circa 1944 with dickey. A two piece dress is different than a tailored suit in that the construction is "softer", less structured. They are easier to make and can be done in a variety of fabrics. The jacket of this pattern is collarless and has a one button closure with faux pocket details. The skirt is straight and comes to just below the knee. A bib style dickey pattern is included in lieu of a blouse which helped to save on fabric use. This pattern meets all of the War Time material restrictions of the day. I have included a snap shot of the pattern description that is printed on the envelope, it  gives more detail.... see below and click for enlarged version.

Pattern is complete.  Still factory folded

 Size is Medium  Bust 36" - Waist 30" - Hips 39" - Sleeve Length from underarm 18"

Good Condition. Envelope as shown... has age and minor wear, back is torn but still readable.

Note on Pattern Sizes: Vintage pattern sizing is not like todays sizes. You can read all about this on our main pattern page. PLUS did you know it is not necessary to buy a pattern in your size? if you learn the basics about re-sizing a pattern you can alter it to your specifications. Links to sites with pattern grading instructions can be found on the main pattern page as well.
