There is much more to come (I've been shopping!) so for the latest updates to both Tangerine Boutique and Tangerine Boutique on Ruby Lane you should check out our Face Book page and a "like" would be most appreciated if you are so inclined.

It's been a while....

I can't believe a half year has gone by since our last newsletter! I've been crazy busy and there is so much to tell. I usually start my newsletter with some kind of cheery comment on the New England weather...well I might just have to skip the cheery part since I am looking out my window, on Halloween, at a January landscape. Here in Gardner Ma.,
18 inches of snow fell over the past weekend. 18 inches!! Yuck! I'm all for a white Christmas but Halloween is supposed to be all about cool dry days with ruby and gold leaves and orange pumpkins. Not mounds of melting snow and soggy sidewalks "sigh" :(

On a brighter note,
the past six months have been a whirlwind of vintage events. PLUS we just opened a new web shop on Ruby Lane for antiques and collectibles. I'll tell you all about that later. First the shows....

All three Sturbridge Textile shows were a great success. I took the plunge and opted for a larger booth so we were able to bring lots more vintage and allow for more browsing space. I was a bit nervous because we switched to another area of the show and I worried that our regular customers might not find us, but my concerns were unwarranted. Our old customers DID find us and they loved the new set up, plus, many new shoppers came streaming through. Sometimes you just have to take a chance...:)

The October Manhattan Show was a blast! And guess who was there? Bill Cunningham, how cool is that!? In case you are not familiar with his work, Mr. Cunningham is a MOST important fashion photographer. He works for for the New York Times and scours the world capturing the best and the newest fashion trends. There are countless people who would give their eye teeth to be the subject of his lens. The fashion focused, Manhattan Show crowd is always a treat to watch but word had gone out that "Himself" would be there so you can imagine what fun it was. Sadly, I was so busy I never even caught a glimpse of Mr Cunningham, but it was a thrill knowing he was there. I just love New York!

We are really excited about our next event. The Manhattan Show producers are planning a four day pop up, vintage show in the uber hip Chelsea Market and we will be there. The largest Anthropologie shop is located at the Chelsea Market so I expect we will see a great crowd, I hope they love vintage! Here are the details...
DECEMBER 7th 8th 9th and 10th, 2011
HOLIDAY POP-UP VINTAGE EVENT
The Chelsea Market
75 9th Avenue, NYC
(Between 15th & 16th Streets)

Now... about that new Ruby Lane shop. My Mom is an antique dealer and since I was a girl I have had the great fortune to be around all manner of antiques and collectibles. Mom is as enthusiastic about her work as I am about mine and over the years she has shared her love and knowledge of "old things" with me. In my vintage travels I come across lovely objects, besides clothing, and have accumulated a tidy inventory. I'm selling well at the Cambridge Antiques Market but I wanted a greater audience. Ruby Lane has long been my favorite online collectibles site so I decided to expand my business and open a shop there. Tangerine Boutique on Ruby Lane has just debuted with a few of my favorite things and I will be adding more as time goes on. Mostly the site will be dedicated to decorative objects but my first love is fashion and textiles so I'll soon be featuring a select collection of vintage wearables as well! Check out the pictures on the left for a sample of our Ruby Lane merchandise to see more click link above.
