1940s-50s hand embroidered wool vest from Mexico.
Antique ivory, wool... hand embroidered with burnt orange satin thread. Simple one piece cut (no side seams) with small collar and patch pockets. The edges of the garment are folded over and finished blanket style with a hand done cross stitch. Open in front. It does look old but there are no moth holes or stains. Created at a time when western wear was all the rage.

Can be worn by a man or a woman.A great ethnic-hippie piece. For the gals: you can accessorize for a more stylish look with a wide belt. Preferably hand tooled with a fabulous buckle!

For those nippy, hot cocoa, fall and winter days a 1950s vintage Red Plaid Mohair cardigan!
Mohair comes from the Angora goat. The wool has a smooth, lustrous, texture and looks a bit like spun sugar.
An expensive fiber, Mohair is usually blended sparingly with wool to create a feather light yarn that is remarkably strong and warm, only the more expensive sweaters used  PURE mohair, and this is one of those. Although perfect for fall or spring I often wear mine in place of a coat on less frigid winter days as well.
Dark cherry red with gray and black plaid front + plain back. Plain red sleeves, button placket and collar. Thick but lightweight and oh sooo cozy. The buttons are genuine gray mother of pearl.
The label reads Made in Italy Exclusively for Saks Fifth Avenue Mohair.

Feminine and lady like, lace overlay vintage cardigan from the 1960s.

Creamy ivory lace, over kitten soft Orlon knit with elegant satin details. The sweater closes with real mother of pearl buttons. The rounded Peter Pan collar is satin bound on the edge and the sleeves have knit cuffs so they can be worn pushed up which was the style at that time. It has a straight style without any shaping and is cropped above the hip. The edge of the hem is also satin bound. The collar can be worn buttoned up but would also look lovely open at the neck. A perfect year round vintage sweater that will go with everything.
Dressy enough to wear in the evening over your shoulders yet casual looking when worn with jeans. A truly versatile piece. Never worn.

The material is a textured poly knit with a bold geometric print in blues and browns. It has a jewel neckline and center back zipper, a classic pullover style The body is cut straight and the sleeves are long and narrow. This would be perfect over capri pants or a cute mini skirt. Of course it would work beautifully with jeans too! The label in the back says Bookvalley by Fairfield but inside the hem of the fabric also reads designed by Zio Luigi for Fairfield, I am assuming Zio Luigi is the designer. The size is Large. Lacy knit sweater with tuxedo style ruffled front buttons to the neck with white pearl ball buttons... Lacy knit ruffled neckline and sleeve edges. The sleeves are elasticized at the wrist and are bracelet length meant to show the wrist....Sheer nylon lining inside the body.
The label reads Superbly Detailed Lace Sweater, nylon lined 100% acrylic Fiber. Would look adorable over a cute miniskirt with cropped boots don't you think ?

Absolutely adorable 1960s two piece vintage Tyrolean skirt and vest set from Austria.

Created from ivory wool flannel the set consists of a tailored vest trimmed with loden green piping and embroidered acorn motif. It has a mandarin style collar.The vest is meant to be worn open and the pewter buttons are purely decorative. The skirt is cut A-line with a front V yoke. The yoke is top stitched with loden thread and sports a double row of pewter buttons. The front gores of the skirt and the yoke are defined by loden green piping. Both pieces have a hand set lining in ivory silk taffeta. The designers label inside reads Max Hurni made in Austria. Wear the set together or seperately. The size is small with the following measurements

Pretty pale aqua and white. Nubby boucle crocheted body... argyle diamond pattern in front, plain in back. WONDERFUL "calypso-feel" shaggy looped sleeves. Wide neckline...the sleeves are bracelet length meant to show the wrist.
Would look Hollywood-Fab over skinny white leather pants or jeans with wedge sandals.
Altough the measurements are generous it is designed to be slouchy so I am calling it  Med in size with the following measurements before stretch.

Pretty peach, gray and white acrylic yarns in a shaggy loop crochet. V design in front and down the sleeves... Plain white in back... Wide neck. The sleeves are bracelet length, cut to show the wrist.

This fun sweater is oversized, it would look great over leggings or "skinny" jeans.

Although the measurements are generous it  is designed for a slouchy fit so I am calling it a Med size with the following measurements before stretch.
